The Lost Symbol : Dan Brown's new book

I would say that Dan Brown's new book is a disappointment. I expected more from him. Its not that this book is not thrilling but the problem lies in its plot and motivation of characters for things they do in it.
Plot is really very weak and is the biggest weakness of this book. There are lot of things new and astounding but it gets bored when again and again he says Ancient Mysteries and enlightened minds the powerful knowledge etc.
He has also made some guesses about why have masonic people have chosen USA as their country where they can hide their symbols. Its really difficult for a person to guess which country will rule the world after 200 years so it looks bit silly when he says masonic forefathers chose America as their next destination.
There are some good things about how science and religion want to achieve same goal but have different paths. Philosophical thinking also is good but I did not read that book for philosophy.
This book is no where near to exceptional 'Da Vinci Code' and 'Angels and Demons' both books by Dan Brown. He seems to have lost the plot in The Lost Symbol. Too much symbology is really uncalled for abd really people look like encyclopedias.
It really amazes me how he has depicted Director of CIA OS acts, he depicted character CIA director in book Digital Fortress and it was very good, it had qualities like being calm under immense pressure. But this director does not seem to like that at all, she gets angry every now and then.
Book is one time read but will surely disappoint Dan Brown fans.

India america relations

I read following article in TOI

http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Default/Scripting/ArticleWin.asp?From=Archive&Source=Page&Skin=TOINEW&BaseHref=TOIPU/2009/11/27&PageLabel=18&EntityId=Ar01800&ViewMode=HTML&GZ=T

It is optimistic that America is not ignorant of India and is not giving blank checks to Pakistan, it wants accountability from that country but nothing much has been addressed about India's concern about China. Although due to some economic restrictions have deterred Mr President from speaking against China. But no one is permanent enemy or friend in International politics. So may be its time for India to get whatever possible from USA and do the things that are in interest of country itself. I have lot of hopes from Manmahon Singh. Hopefully he will not disappoint many Indian like me.

Interesting Article about Hindu In TOI

Following is the interesting article in Times of India.

http://epaper.timesofindia.com/Default/Scripting/ArticleWin.asp?From=Archive&Source=Page&Skin=TOINEW&BaseHref=TOIPU/2009/11/15&PageLabel=21&EntityId=Ar02102&ViewMode=HTML&GZ=T

This article is about Resurrection of Hindus and I did not expect this type of Article from TOI. Its not that I am disappointed with it, i am just curious why would a SECULAR news paper like TOI would go for this kind of Article where sentences like 'Till a few centuries ago, the Hindus were confronted by marauding Muslim invaders and proselytizing Christian missionaries' are used.
This type of article can be found in RSS news paper but not in TOI. It does not completely criticize other religions but indirectly it does so e.g.it contains sentence like 'All this thanks to the liberal and successful Hindu, who will never bomb his adopted country, but instead makes it home by importing a bit of his native land', which clearly criticizes Muslims who have carried out attacks in the country they have settled in.
It has also praised the RSS for its social service which is absolutely true but RSS has always been criticized for its anti Muslim agenda and I am shocked that it has been praised.
Very very interesting. But most of the times it praises achievements by Hindu's all over the world.
Its a little biased article which does not suit TOI.

Confusion of beliefs

I am confused about my one belief. I was watching one of the show which was showing proofs of paranormal Activities. I did not believe any proof they gave because it was totally depended on your thinking. If you want to believe it you would but if do not want to you wont believe it. One question just then popped in my head, do i believe in god, answer was yes I do. Then have i seen god? What proof do I have of existence of god? If I believe in god without proof then why should not I believe in Ghosts?? I am confused...someone answer me...

Maharashtra Assembly elections results

I think BJP and Sena need total overhaul of their leadership or party because they could not use the anti incumbency factor against government. Load shading had increased by 5 hours during last Congress govt and there were suicides by farmers but still BJP and Sena messed up everything. They can not blame their failure on MNS they won 91 seats and were almost 50 seats short. Yes they could have lost around 20 to 30 seats because of MNS factor but there were some secular parties like Republican Party who took some votes from Congress but still they managed to win. BJP and Sena have themselves to blame only for their failure but anyway congrats to Congress for their 3 consecutive win. They have because of failure of opposition rather than their own virtue. Hopefully this time they will do something good. And congress is growing in allmost all states. And its good thing in terms of National Politics. Atleast if nuisance if regional parties will decrease and Congress will have more freedom.

Team India's selection for series against Australia

I think selectors have got some decisions wrong like axing Yusuf Pathan, he deserves another chance. It was argued that he did not bat well but he came at no 7 with only few overs remaining and is expected to accelerate so while accelerating he got out many times. Also people all over the world got to know him, found out where to bowl him so failed in match. He has been made scapegoat for India's exit from CT. He really got raw deal and so did Abhishek Nayar. I do not what did he do wrong to be axed from team, I think he is the kind of all rounder India is looking for, can bat at no 7 can hit the ball very hard and long and plus can bowl 5 to 8 overs. But I think Dhoni does not have faith in him thats why he did not bowl much when he played. I really feel sorry for Rahul Dravid, he came in played well but still got axed. His case is really curious one. After Sachin Viru n Gambhir are at the top who are good player of short delivery, Rahul does not find place. And may be thats right. Also in Indian conditions we need hitter rather than players like Rahul but he is very good player against quality attack like Aussies. Also I dont understand selection of Munaf Patel. he is one of the lamest bowler I have ever seen, does not show any energy while bowling, does not put up 100 % efforts and still gets in to Indian team. Where is Srishanth???He is good aggressive bowler atleast he puts his 100 % and has lot of talent. Is there dearth of fast bowlers in India?? I think yes. We have only few names. I am really looking forward to see Ravindra Jadeja. He is very good selection. He is very good spin bowler and can bat too but problem is where will he bat??? At no 7?? Yusuf Pathan has failed at that posn (according to Selection committee) and playing at no 7 did finish career of Mohm Kaif. Anyway i am praying for India's success. Best of luck team India.

Hindu Extremists

I read news that Hindu extremist group were carrying out explosives for some destructive means. I am very disappointed in them, I hate to hear term Hindu terrorism but these miscreants have made it happen.... I want them to be punished so hard that no one will dare to become one...I abhorred Islamic terrorists and now here comes Hindu terrorist...I am ashamed that these people were born Hindu. I am not being secular but these things will only raise religious tensions in India. These people forget that by doing this they are only jeopardizing India's future. Next generations wont forgive us if we do not arrest these kind of people immediately. Terrorists are terrorists and all terrorists should be treated in same manner. Last time when some people were arrested for bomb blasts in Malegaon they were in news but that Mumbai attack on 26th Nov took attention from them but this time that should not happen. I hope and strongly urge that government should punish these people, pampering them will only worsen things for our country.

Good news

I just read that IMF has said world will grow by 3.1% in 2010. Its a good news for everyone. Even though they said that job market will not get better soon but hopes are there and especially depression like 1930 has been avoided. I hope condition gets better in a year or two for job market. Asia will be the major contribotor in this growth rate.

India's Exit from CT

It was sad to see the end of Indian Cricket team's end of tour of SA for CT. Indian team is mainly responsible for this result but I am happy to see that captain Dhoni admitted the errors or mistakes, thats why he should remain captain. India had good match against depleted WI, I hope we play better against Aussies.

India's performance in ICC Champion's trophy

India's performance in champion's trophy has been pathetic, I dont know what has happened to this team, players are not different but good players like Sharma, Bhajji and Dhoni are not performing upto their standarads. I really dont understand whta has happened to Ishant, he is a class bowler but may be he has lost confidence or he is trying too hard also he is young and players all over the world have read him and are going after him but I believe he will come back. This team looks lame without Viru, Yuvi and Zahir. I hope these players get fit asap.Aus is coming to India for 7 ODIs so we need all three players to defeat Aus.Raina is getting consistent I feel sorry for Pathan bros both are having hard time specially the younger one. And where is Rohit Sharma? He is very inconsistent player but he has lot of talent, when I see him not performing I remember Yuvi when he was young and arrogant and was very inconsistent I used be angry with him because he did not used to do justice to his talent. I hope he will work out on his flaws and will come back into team. But anyway Dravid is good news but question is how long BCCI wants to play him? He should have never been removed from team. My best wishes are with Dhoni and his team and I firmly beleve that they will bounce back. Best luck India go go go...

My first blog and UPA's victory

This is my first blog. I have been waiting for this Judgment day for long. I was very eager for the result and it seems that people of India have voted for one stable government. I have always supported Dr. Manmohan because he is the one who works for nation with minimum corruption and was far better option than Mr Advani. I am happy with the result. But I do not like some people saying about making Rahul Gandhi making PM, I still think he has long way to go before he can become part of goverment even though Congress has performed very well under his leadership in UP where Congress has got some mandate almost after 20 years but only that achievement can not make him PM. But my best wishes are with Rahul Gandhi as he is honest and hard working man and definitely has future. I hope he will become important figure in government this year and will do a good job. And Sonia Gandhi also deserves credit for support she gave to Dr. Manmohan for backing him as their candidate for PM against the will of many parties and that gamble has worked but she should keep her promise and make Dr. Manmohan PM and not Rahul Gandhi.
